I Want to Understand Myself
You are more than your trauma, your survival patterns, and the roles you've learned to play.
Sometimes the journey back to yourself begins with learning to hear your own voice beneath everyone else's expectations.
Three Questions to Come Back to Yourself
1. What actually happened?
Separate what you know happened from what you're afraid it might mean. Your feelings matter, and so do the facts.
2. What am I feeling right now?
Anger? Grief? Fear? Overstimulation? Relief?
You don't have to justify your emotions to acknowledge them.
3. What do I need in this moment?
Rest? Reassurance? Space? Connection? A boundary? Greater safety?
Your needs are information, not evidence that you're asking too much.
Remember: Not every uncomfortable feeling is a trauma response. Sometimes your nervous system is responding to something genuinely harmful in your environment.
You deserve to understand both.
You are allowed to become someone beyond what happened to you.
